Research projects initiated by young researchers (FK_19), with a total budget of HUF 4 billion, provides targeted funding to the independent scientific work of researchers aged under 40 years.
The call was open for promising researcher-initiated basic research projects in any field of science without thematic priorities, with the main idea to enable young researchers to launch independent research projects in their own research group in Hungary.
The assessment process followed the mechanism applied to thematic project proposals: proposals were assessed by anonymous experts against the criteria indicated in the Application Guidelines, with the involvement of expert panels and specialised scientific councils. Accepting the recommendation of the decision preparation bodies, the President of the NRDI Office agreed on the funding of 80 project proposals with the following distribution between fields of science.
